Hello Everyone!
Ben here; well yesterday was the big day. We were called into the hospital at about 6:00 am. By 7:30 am, Steph was all hooked up and the induction procedure was started. It was a bit of an anxious morning. Even at 11:00 am when Steph's water broke she was still at a 3. But after about an hour nap, she improved all the way to an 8 and that is when the action really took off. There was concern at first that the baby was breached, but that was resolved with a second opinion. The doctor came in at about 1:20 pm, and at 1:32 p.m. little Brooklyn was born.
Allow me to take a moment to express how thankful I am to our Heavenly Father. I am so proud of Steph. She stayed faithful through it all and even though she was a little nervous and tried to play tough at first, she took advantage of all the painkillers available and had a really great experience. I was amazed. Not but maybe 10 minutes after Brooklyn was born Steph was already eating. I would too! That was a long morning!
I am also proud of Brooklyn. She is very sweet and I believe she already knows my voice. She likes to squeeze my finger and not let go and she loves to be held. I never thought she would have so much hair either! Wow! Also, Brooklyn appears to be very aware, much more than Justin was. Speaking of Justin, he has been so excited. He loved it when he met her for the first time last night. He kissed her several times and hated to leave. I am not only a lucky man but I am a blessed man too. I don't mean to sound selfish but I have the most beautiful and greatest family. I love these kids and my wife. They definitely make me a better more tolerable man.
