I've been a mom for 2 1/2 years. I only have 2 kids and I do not have a full time job. Sometimes though, I get really frustrated with how things are going. I forget to enjoy my day with my 2 kids and get caught up with cleaning, cooking, and about a hundred other little things throughout the day. I have been making an effort lately to stop and play, or watch, and to just enjoy my life as a mom. I learned that I really enjoy what I do, and that it is my responsibility to make it enjoyable. Here are ten reasons I LOVE being a mom:
1. Cuddling is one of the sweetest pick-me-ups in the whole world - especially when I get a pat my face or a kiss.
2. Renewed appreciation for little things I've overlooked for a long time. Justin thinks little bugs are the coolest or even a rock.
3. Even changing diapers has become fun again. It's been a time to tickle Brookies toes, blow on her tummy and sing funny songs.
4. I am NEVER ever bored.
5. I find myself getting excited to show Justin and Brookie something new, because I can't wait to see their reactions.
6. Involving a toddler in everyday activities always ends up more messy, but who cares??? I let
Justin help me make lemonade. Most of the powder ends up on the floor, but the excitement in his face makes the mess invisible.
7. I find that I appreciate my own mom a whole lot more. I find myself saying stuff like "I can't believe you did this 7 times!" My mom is Wonder Woman to me.
8. I get to go fun places and do fun things. I take the kids to the park in the mornings during our walk.
9. It's a blessing to be able think about someone besides myself all the time. I think taking care of someone else is one of God's ways of helping us get over ourselves. I think I really needed that. :)
10. You know that feeling that you get when you take home a plant from a school class that you planted yourself, and you managed not to kill it and it actually grew? I get that feeling everyday! Every milestone is a wonder. I care about Justin and Brookie a lot more than I care about a bean sprout from class, but the point is that they grow and change and I can't believe how amazing it is to watch.
And that is why I LOVE being a mom.

What a sweet list!
Thanks, I needed that!!!
WOw! It's like you knew exactly what I've been going through. Thanks! I really need to step back and enjoy my kids a little more too! Glad your loving being a mom and I loved all your 10 reasons. They would be mine too! Well, other than the diaper changing. LOL I'll have to work on that one!!
I couldn't agree more! Being a mom is the best thing in the world!
Why don't you fly out to Alabama with the kids and enjoy being a mom with me for a few weeks! Wouldn't that be fun?
Thank you for the reminder. This summer being away from our own home has made me step back and realize the same things. When I am at our own home I cook and clean and the day goes by too fast I forget to take some time to just sit and play with my kids. Being a mom is by far the best job in the world.
